About the Role
Safety Officer - Risk Management – THPG
Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together Work location: Texas Health Physicians Group 9250 Amberton Parkway TX 75243 Work hours: Full Time Days (8:00am-5:00pm) for 40 hrs./week (remote work allowed at manager's discretion)
What You Will Do:
Specific responsibility for planning, implementation, and management of Environment of Care (EOC): OSHA, Life Safety, Emergency Preparedness and Management programs within Federal/State, and THR guidelines.
Responsibility for education, training, and coaching of facility staff and leadership relevant to, but not limited to EOC issues, OSHA, Life Safety, Emergency Management, Joint Commission, EPA, NFPA, DEA, TDH-DSHS, etc.
Prepares and analyzes safety reports from surveillance of the medical office practices. Conducts interviews with clinic staff and management related to EOC, OSHA, Emergency Management, and Hazardous Materials. Maintains reporting documents and forwards pertinent information to appropriate key stakeholders. Escalates any urgent findings to Director Risk Management. Always supportive in the training and delivery of regulatory requirements.
Attendance and involvement in appropriate committee meetings, organization meetings and co-ordination of plans to promote compliance with specified regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's Degree Nursing or related field Req Or Bachelor's Degree Nursing or related field Req
Experience: 2 Years Patient safety, risk management, and/or quality experience Req 2 Years Ambulatory care experience Req 2 Years OSHA experience Req 2 Years ANSI experience Req
Licenses and Certifications: RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Req Or LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire Req Or MA - Medical Assistant Upon Hire Req And Other SSH General Industry certification w/in 12 months of hire Upon Hire Req Or Other SSH Healthcare Certification w/in 12 months of hire Upon Hire Req
Skills: Ability to interpret regulatory standards and apply them to the ambulatory care setting. Strong communication skills with the ability to educate interdisciplinary teams. Ability to develop action plans to mitigate identified risks in the clinic setting. Proficient with Microsoft Excel, MyRounds, RISI dashboards, and other databases to extract rounding data. Ability to time manage and create own workflow. Actively participate on RCAs, ACAs, Density Analysis, PDSAs, and any other quality reviews.
Supervision: This position manages people 11-49
