About the Role

Director, Data Acquisition & Partnerships

At Insmed, every moment and every patient counts — and so does every person who joins in.As a global biopharmaceutical company dedicated to transforming the lives of patients with serious and rare diseases, you'll be part of a community that prioritizes the human experience, celebrates curiosity, and values every person's contributions to meaningful progress.

That commitment has earned us recognition as Science magazine's No. 1 Top Employer for five consecutive years, certification as a Great Place to Work® in the U.S., and a place on The Sunday Times Best Places to Work list in the UK.

For patients, for each other, and for the future of science, we're in. Are you?

About the Role:

We're looking for a Director, Data Acquisition & Partnerships on the team to help us expand what's possible for patients with serious diseases.Reporting to the Senior Director of Data Strategy & Innovation, you'll lead commercial data acquisition and business-led data partnerships to inform insight generation, decision-making, and innovation across the Commercial Effectiveness organization. You'll leverage traditional and emerging data sources—including real-world data and specialty pharmacy datasets—to shape commercial data strategy, analytics, and innovation.

This is a hands-on, entrepreneurial role requiring both strategic leadership and operational execution across the end-to-end data acquisition lifecycle.

What You'll Do:

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to lead commercial data acquisition and partnerships—defining strategy, managing vendor relationships, and building the frameworks that enable compliant, high-impact use of data across the Commercial Effectiveness organization. You'll also:

  • Define and execute a commercial and real-world data strategy aligned to marketing, field, and commercial analytics priorities, enabling the broadest compliant use across functions
  • Lead data landscaping, evaluation, and fit-for-purpose data selection through structured discussions and workshops to surface priority use cases and unmet needs
  • Maintain a deep understanding of traditional and emerging real-world data sources (e.g., APLD, claims, EMR, specialty pharmacy) and proactively identify gaps and acquisition opportunities
  • Lead vendor relationships, negotiations, renewals, and ongoing performance management to optimize spend and value back to Insmed
  • Establish and own business-led frameworks covering permitted use, ethical data use, and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, GxP), including clear decision rights and escalation paths
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive commercial data inventory and catalog to ensure data assets are discoverable, well-documented, and governed
  • Partner with Procurement, Legal, Compliance, IT, and Finance to streamline contracting, onboarding, and data acquisition processes
  • Serve as the commercial data subject matter expert on cross-functional initiatives, including launch teams and governance forums
  • Promote adoption and effective use of data assets through clear communication, guidance, training, and quarterly data strategy council meetings
Who You Are:

You have a background in commercial data strategy, analytics, or pharmaceutical data partnerships along with 8+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, or a related quantitative field. You are a strategic, hands-on leader with deep expertise in real-world and commercial data or you also have:

  • Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical commercial data and vendor offerings, including sales, specialty pharmacy, payer, promotional and marketing data, and real-world data (e.g., claims, EMR, APLD)
  • Strong understanding of how data informs commercial decision-making across brand strategy, field execution, access, and analytics
  • Experience managing data vendor relationships and leading data acquisition and governance initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and partner effectively in matrixed, cross-functional environments
  • Experience operating in the US pharmaceutical market; global experience is a plus
  • Rare disease, specialty, or respiratory experience preferred
  • Strong executive-level communication skills, including the ability to distill complex topics into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Where you'll Work:

This is a fully remote role. It can be performed effectively from anywhere while staying connected to your Insmed team and community. Occasional travel for team meetings or events will be expected.

Pay Range: $177,000.00-242,000.00 Annual

Life at Insmed

At Insmed, you'll find a culture as human as our mission—intentionally designed for the people behind it. You deserve a workplace that reflects the same care you bring to your work each day, with support for how you work, how you grow, and how you show up for patients, your team, and yourself.

  • Company Learning Institute providing access to LinkedIn Learning, skill building workshops, leadership programs, mentorship connections, and networking opportunities
