About the Role

Infrastructure Engineer

Part of a larger team delivering high quality computer, network, storage and end-user infrastructure technology solutions, on-going support to the business.Independently completes infrastructure project assignments.Plan, research, evaluate, design, and engineerthe enterprise's technology infrastructure.Provide technical support and troubleshooting, cost estimates, justifications, and recommendations.Produces technical documentation, support and configuration.Manage, plan, and maintain technical platforms including upgrading systems.Monitor system performance and installs and configures hardware.

Responsible for collaborating with other job families such as project managers, architects, solution engineers, technicians, business analysts to deliver consistent, reliable technology solutions that leverage companies technology standards, architectures and best practices.

Essential job functions & tasks:

  • Perform infrastructure project assignments.
  • Plan, research, evaluate and design infrastructure solutions.
  • Provide a high level of technical support and analysis, operation, administration, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Adhere to AEP's approval processes as part of change management, incident management and trouble response scenarios.
  • Prepare cost estimates, justifications, application requirements, alternative solutions, and technical recommendations.
  • Prepare technical documentation including procedures, manuals, and reports.
  • Review and adhere to budgeting and approval processes while assisting with annual and project planning.
  • May provide training and mentoring, as well as work direction, to others on the team.

Basic qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.
  • Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Required:

  • Strong experience supporting Microsoft Windows 10 and 11, on HP and Apple workstations
  • Strong experience using Ivanti (LANDesk) Endpoint Manager or Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
  • Strong experience using PowerShell and other scripting languages
  • Strong experience managing and remediating cyber security vulnerabilities on Windows endpoint devices
  • Experience utilizing JAMF to manage cyber security vulnerabilities to Apple workstations
  • Consult on best practices for Windows & MAC vulnerability management
  • Provide leadership and direction to other engineers on vulnerability remediation
  • Develop, lead and execute on vulnerability remediation plans
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, standards, codes and regulations relevant to assignments
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of company infrastructure, environment, components, and facilities to enable more efficient and comprehensive responses to projects and problems
  • Exhibit and apply proficiency in analysis, design, problem solving, troubleshooting, resolution, communication, and customer service skills
