About the Role

Position: Buyer II
Duration: 4 - 6 MONTHS
Location: Chicago or Schaumburg(Hybrid)
Job description:
Software Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation:
Work collaboratively with Global Category Managers todevelop and execute strategic sourcing strategies. Lead competitive bidding processes (RFx), negotiate favorable terms and conditions, and manage the contract lifecycle to secure optimal pricing, quality, and service levels.

Supplier Relationship Management:
Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.

Cost Reduction & Process Improvement:
Drive ongoing cost reduction initiatives and identify immediate, high-impact savings opportunities. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to demonstrate value delivered.

Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, from individual contributors to senior leadership, to understand business requirements and align procurement strategies with organizational goals. Ensure continuity for critical software license renewals and support urgent business needs.

Contract Management:
Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from negotiation and execution to renewal and termination, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Budgeting & Financial Analysis:
Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing within the software industry.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in contract negotiation with software vendors.
  • Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable cost savings terms and conditions with vendors.
  • Proficiency in using procurement tools and technologies. Such as Oracle, Apptus, and Tableau.
Technical skills:
  • Ability to quickly assimilate into existing processes and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven competence in understanding complex software landscapes and business requirements.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
