About the Role

LHH is seeking a Staff Accountant to join out cleint's growing corproate team in Columbus, Ohio. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment while supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of a dynamic organization.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy. This role provides exposure to various accounting functions and offers opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
This is a fully onsite position based in Columbus, OH.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Analyze general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
  • Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Assist with external audits by preparing supporting documentation and responding to auditor requests.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Perform special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis functions.
  • Experience utilizing ERP or accounting software systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Progress toward CPA certification is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working within a mid-sized or large organization.
  • Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or financial analysis activities.
Pay Details: $55,000.00 to $68,013.00 per year
