Temp-to-Perm Customer Service SpecialistLocation: Melville, NY
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Full-Time Onsite
Hours: 8:45 AM - 5:00 PM (1-Hour Lunch)
Pay Rate: $24/hr
Position Summary:The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for supporting customer accounts through effective communication, accurate order processing, and proactive problem resolution. This role serves as a liaison between customers, sales representatives, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure efficient order management and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities include processing customer purchase orders, managing customer inquiries and requests, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing daily communication support to sales representatives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities:Customer Service & Issue Resolution- Respond promptly to customer inquiries, requests, and concerns.
- Coordinate resolution of shipment, delivery, inventory, and product-related issues.
- Collaborate with suppliers, warehouse personnel, accounting, and internal teams to resolve customer concerns efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer support through phone and email communication.
Order Processing & Documentation- Process and monitor customer purchase orders.
- Maintain organized customer files and correspondence records.
- Track purchase orders against inventory requirements and contracts.
- Generate customer communications and maintain accurate records of customer interactions.
Sales Support- Assist with customer requests, product information, pricing support, vendor updates, and special projects.
- Communicate customer activity and pending issues to internal stakeholders.
- Support the overall sales process by ensuring timely and accurate customer information.
Administrative & Team Support- Provide backup support for team members during absences.
- Assist with process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and customer responsiveness.
- Perform additional administrative and customer service duties as assigned.
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous customer service, order entry, or administrative support experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with order entry or ERP systems such as Sage 100 is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Pay Details: $24.00 per hour
