The Controller is responsible for overseeing accounting and financial operations for a multi-entity organization, including both nonprofit and for-profit business units. This role also provides financial analysis, benchmarking, KPI reporting, forecasting, and strategic insights to support leadership decision-making.
Key Responsibilities- Lead accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Oversee cash management, treasury functions, and investments.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Prepare and oversee timely financial reporting in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Partner with executive leadership on financial analysis, benchmarking, capital investments, pricing strategies, and contract evaluations.
- Develop annual budgets and forecasts; analyze and communicate budget variances.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators and financial metrics.
- Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including financial analysis within a manufacturing, production, or operational environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
- CPA or CMA designation preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
