Our client, a growing manufacturing organization in the Noblesville area, is seeking a Cost Accountant to join its finance team. This position offers the opportunity to partner closely with operations, supply chain, production, and leadership teams while having a direct impact on manufacturing performance and profitability. The ideal candidate will have experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of inventory, standard costing, and month-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities - Analyze and report manufacturing costs including materials, labor, and overhead
- Monitor standard costs and investigate cost variances
- Assist with inventory management, cycle counts, and physical inventories
- Reconcile inventory and support month-end close activities
- Prepare plant profitability and cost reporting
- Track and analyze inventory adjustments and purchase price variances (PPV)
- Maintain BOMs, routings, and cost structures within the ERP system
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Collaborate with operations and plant leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Assist with year-end audit requirements and special projects
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of cost accounting experience
- Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting principles
- Experience with inventory accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis
- Advanced Excel skills
- ERP experience required
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications - Manufacturing industry experience
- Work-in-Process (WIP) accounting experience
- Experience with BOMs, inventory costing, and production reporting
- Experience using Power BI or SSRS reporting tools
- Exposure to ERP implementations or integrations
Compensation & Benefits - $75,000 - $85,000 base salary
