About the Role

Our client, a growing manufacturing organization in the Noblesville area, is seeking a Cost Accountant to join its finance team. This position offers the opportunity to partner closely with operations, supply chain, production, and leadership teams while having a direct impact on manufacturing performance and profitability. The ideal candidate will have experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of inventory, standard costing, and month-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and report manufacturing costs including materials, labor, and overhead
  • Monitor standard costs and investigate cost variances
  • Assist with inventory management, cycle counts, and physical inventories
  • Reconcile inventory and support month-end close activities
  • Prepare plant profitability and cost reporting
  • Track and analyze inventory adjustments and purchase price variances (PPV)
  • Maintain BOMs, routings, and cost structures within the ERP system
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Collaborate with operations and plant leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Assist with year-end audit requirements and special projects
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of cost accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting principles
  • Experience with inventory accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • ERP experience required
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Manufacturing industry experience
  • Work-in-Process (WIP) accounting experience
  • Experience with BOMs, inventory costing, and production reporting
  • Experience using Power BI or SSRS reporting tools
  • Exposure to ERP implementations or integrations
Compensation & Benefits
