About the Role

LHH is seeking a Staff Accountant for a growing company located in the Chicago Loop. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to expand their experience in general ledger accounting, month-end close, fixed assets, and full-cycle accounting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of accounting experience and experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or a comparable ERP system.

Worksite Type: Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records
  • Perform monthly balance sheet and bank account reconciliations
  • Manage and track fixed asset additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliations
  • Support both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions as needed
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciling items
  • Assist with financial reporting and preparation of supporting schedules
  • Analyze general ledger accounts and prepare account reconciliations
  • Monitor revenue and expenses to ensure accuracy and proper accounting treatment
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities, including variance analysis
  • Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports for management
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience in a Staff Accountant or similar role
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 strongly preferred; experience with comparable ERP systems will be considered
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures
  • Experience with fixed asset accounting preferred
  • Exposure to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
