Position SummaryOur client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant. This role will be responsible for managing key accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, leading month-end and year-end close activities, and supporting financial reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger experience, excellent reconciliation skills, and hands-on experience with QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, medium sized ERP system Essential Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and account adjustments.
- Perform and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Analyze financial data and investigate account variances.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of general ledger transactions.
- Assist with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Maintain accounting records in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and analysis.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Support system optimization and accounting process improvements within QuickBooks and Sage Intacct.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Strong experience with:
- General Ledger Accounting
- Account Reconciliations
- Financial Reporting
- Journal Entries and Accruals
- Balance Sheet Analysis
- Proficiency with:
- QuickBooks
- Sage Intacct
- Other Medium Sized ERP System
- Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reporting, and data analysis)
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications - CPA certification or CPA candidate.
- Experience supporting external audits.
- Multi-entity and/or multi-location accounting experience.
