About the Role

Bookkeeper

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a respected organization to identify a detail-oriented Bookkeeper with strong Accounts Receivable and Payroll experience. This position offers a diverse mix of bookkeeping, receivables, payroll administration, account reconciliations, and general accounting support. The ideal candidate enjoys owning processes, maintaining accuracy, and supporting multiple areas of the accounting function.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who has a solid bookkeeping background and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process semi-monthly payroll, including regular wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and employee deductions.
  • Review and validate employee time records, pay rates, direct deposit information, and payroll-related changes in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations for a multi-state workforce.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries and support accurate payroll postings to the general ledger.
  • Reconcile payroll-related deductions and coordinate payroll feeds with benefit providers and third-party vendors.
  • Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoice review, billing adjustments, cash applications, payment posting, and account reconciliations.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate cash reporting.
  • Assist with revenue data transfers and maintain the accuracy of financial records.
  • Monitor customer account aging and assist with collections, payment issues, and account inquiries.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes through reconciliations and journal entry preparation.
  • Assist with special projects and cross-functional accounting support as needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality while handling employee and financial information.
Qualifications
  • Degree, certification, or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience with a strong emphasis on both Accounts Receivable and Payroll processing.
  • Experience processing payroll for multi-state employees preferred.
  • Knowledge of payroll compliance, payroll taxes, and wage and hour regulations.
  • Experience with accounting software, ERP systems, and payroll platforms.
  • Strong bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
