About the Role

A well-established transportation services organization is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Coordinator to join their team in Columbus, OH. This role is beginning on a contract basis with the potential to become permanent based on performance and business needs.
This individual will play a key role in supporting daily financial and operational activities by reconciling transportation revenue, balancing cash collections, reviewing transactions, and ensuring accurate reporting. The ideal candidate will have previous accounting or reconciliation experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with employees across multiple departments. This position is fully onsite and operates Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Responsibilities
  • Perform daily reconciliation of daily transactions
  • Review records and information to ensure accurate financial reporting and proper revenue allocation
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to payment intake
  • Prepare, balance, and document daily cash deposits while maintaining accurate financial records and audit trails
  • Process payroll-related information, including reviewing and entering timekeeping data into company systems
  • Generate, analyze, and distribute daily accounting and operational reports for management review
Qualifications
  • 1+ years of accounting, accounts receivable, cash application, reconciliation, bookkeeping, or related financial experience
  • 3+ years office experience
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and research discrepancies
  • Comfortable working with Excel, financial reports, and multiple software systems
  • Experience handling cash, balancing transactions, and preparing deposits preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work professionally with drivers, managers, and support staff
  • Organized, dependable, and capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred but not required
