Sourcing Specialist | Gardner, KS Contract | $27-36ph. LHH is a leading manufacturer within the heavy equipment and industrial supply chain industry is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join its procurement team. This role is responsible for managing supplier relationships, developing sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, and driving cost savings initiatives that support operational excellence and long-term business growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a sourcing professional who enjoys collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, operations, quality, planning, and finance teams while leading supplier performance and procurement initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for assigned commodities and supplier categories.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements with a focus on cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Identify and implement cost reduction and value engineering opportunities.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Optimize supplier partnerships and support supplier development initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on new product launches and sourcing projects.
- Lead supplier-related activities for both existing production and new product introductions.
- Monitor market conditions, supplier capabilities, and sourcing risks to support procurement decisions.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure sourcing strategies align with business objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of sourcing, purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proven experience achieving cost savings and supplier performance improvements.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with supplier development, category management, or value engineering is highly preferred.
- Manufacturing, OEM, metal fabrication, steel commodity, or industrial procurement experience is a plus.
Pay Details: $27.00 to $32.00 per hour
