About the Role

Staff Accountant
Contract-to-Hire Opportunity
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This position is expected to last at least six months, with the potential for extension and possible permanent employment based on business needs and performance.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to expand their skills in a collaborative environment. The selected candidate will receive training and work closely with accounting leadership while supporting key financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.
  • Assist with general ledger account reconciliations and financial reporting activities.
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and transaction variances.
  • Process accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Assist with financial reporting and account analysis.
  • Follow established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet critical deadlines and ensure workload coverage.
  • Provide additional accounting support as needed.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent accounting experience.
  • Experience with:
    • Bank reconciliations
    • Journal entries
    • General ledger reconciliations
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
Preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis.
  • Experience working within an ERP system.
  • Exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools.
  • Experience with accounting software and financial systems.
  • Experience supporting a collaborative accounting team.

Assignment Details

Pay Details: $26.00 to $28.00 per hour
