About the Role

Human Resources Generalist

Location: Sacramento, CA

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our People & Culture team. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, this role serves as a key partner in supporting HR operations, employee engagement, compliance, and talent initiatives across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Administer daily HR processes and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation with a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, and data integrity.
  • Manage HRIS updates, reporting, audits, and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Track required compliance activities, including certifications, training completions, safety requirements, and regulatory reporting.
  • Maintain safety-related tracking, monthly vehicle reporting, and compliance calendars.
  • Coordinate seamless onboarding and offboarding processes for all employees.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation, employment documentation, and system access setup.
  • Process employee status changes, personnel updates, and other lifecycle transactions.
  • Ensure personnel files and records remain current and compliant.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and programs that reinforce organizational values and culture.
  • Assist with employee communications, training programs, recognition efforts, and team events.
  • Coordinate HR meetings, training sessions, and key People & Culture milestones.
  • Provide backup support for payroll processing and benefits administration.
  • Assist with employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and HR programs.
  • Support expense reporting, reconciliations, and HR-related reporting as needed.
  • Ensure timely and accurate responses to employee requests.
  • Manage pre-employment processes, including background checks, onboarding requirements, and employment documentation.
  • Partner closely with leadership on People & Culture initiatives and organizational priorities.
  • Prepare HR reports, compliance audits, workforce data, and documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, special projects, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR programs that drive employee success and business objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and employee relations.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms and HR technology systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience utilizing HR software, HRIS systems, and AI-powered tools.
Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and 401K plan. Our program provides employees the flexibility to choose the type of coverage that meets their individual needs. Available paid leave may include Paid Sick Leave, where required by law; any other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law; and Holiday pay upon meeting eligibility criteria.

Pay Details: $36.00 to $43.00 per hour
