Workers' Compensation Specialist Location: Portland, OR (Onsite)
Hours: M-F, full-time
Job Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 DOE plus benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401K with match, PTO + holidays)
About the Role LHH Recruitment is partnering with a large organization in the Portland area to identify a skilled
Workers' Compensation Specialist to join their team onsite. This role will be responsible for managing a high volume of workers' compensation claims, ensuring compliance, and supporting employees through the claims process. The ideal candidate brings strong multi-state experience and a proactive approach to risk mitigation and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities - Manage the full lifecycle of workers' compensation claims, including intake, investigation, coordination, and resolution
- Oversee a high volume caseload, ensuring timely and accurate claim processing
- Collaborate with insurance carriers, third-party administrators, medical providers, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local workers' compensation laws and regulations
- Monitor claim trends and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve outcomes
- Support return-to-work programs and coordinate modified duty assignments
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to claims activity
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding workers' compensation questions and processes
Qualifications - Minimum 3+ years of experience managing high-volume workers' compensation claims
- Experience handling claims in a multi-state environment strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and best practices
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Qualifications - Experience developing or supporting workplace safety and injury prevention programs
- Background working within corporate HR, risk management, or a similar function
- Experience partnering with cross-functional teams in a mid-to-large size organization
- Bachelors Degree or other further education
Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year
