Staff AccountantOur client, a growing organization in the construction industry, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with accounting leadership while supporting key financial reporting, compliance, and general ledger functions in a fast-paced environment experiencing continued growth.

Work Schedule: On-site, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Compensation: $32.25 to $38.55/hour

Position OverviewThe Staff Accountant will be responsible for general ledger accounting, financial reporting support, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and assisting with month-end and year-end close activities. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership of responsibilities, working independently, and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities - Prepare and record journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
- Perform monthly variance analysis and reporting comparing actual results to budget and expectations.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and financial analyses.
- Support public company reporting requirements, including SEC filing preparation, as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX requirements, internal controls, and accounting policies.
- Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, process improvements, system enhancements, and special projects.
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and documentation.
- Perform additional duties and accounting projects as assigned.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of three years of accounting experience in general accounting, financial reporting, or a related function.
- Construction industry accounting experience preferred.
- Experience with large ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Experience with ERP and accounting software systems required.
