Our client in Daytona Beach is seeking a
contract to hire (also open to direct hire) hands-on Assistant Controller to lead accounting operations, manage the financial close process, and drive process improvements within a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. This
hybrid role partners closely with senior leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong controls, and operational efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Close & Reporting- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules
- Oversee journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and account analysis
- Improve close timelines while maintaining accuracy
Accounting Operations- Manage general ledger activity across multiple entities
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies
- Review complex transactions and strengthen internal controls
- Oversee cash management and treasury activities
Audit & Compliance- Act as primary contact for external audits
- Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies
- Support audit requests, filings, and compliance requirements
Process Improvement- Identify inefficiencies and implement scalable processes
- Drive automation and system improvements
- Support ERP enhancements and process redesign initiatives
QualificationsRequired:- Active CPA
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Strong GAAP knowledge
- Multi-entity and multi-state experience
- Advanced Excel skills
Preferred:- Public accounting background
- Private equity experience
- M&A, integrations, or consolidations exposure
- NetSuite experience
Salary range:$130-150K
