We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our client's team in a client-facing role. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with strong fundamentals who is interested in using AI, automation, and modern accounting technology to improve efficiency, accuracy, and client service. The anticipated salary for this role is between $75,000 and $80,000 a year.
Responsibilities:· Leverage AI-assisted tools, automation, and modern accounting technology to improve accounting workflows and efficiency.
· Review AI-generated and system-assisted accounting work to ensure accuracy, completeness, and sound professional judgment.
· Analyze financial information to identify inconsistencies, unusual activity, missing information, and opportunities for improvement.
· Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, general ledger activity, reconciliations, and month-end accounting.
· Assist with the preparation of entity income tax returns for business clients.
· Communicate directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, resolve issues, and provide practical financial insights.
· Improve processes related to monthly close, financial reporting, client follow-up, recurring compliance activities, and tax preparation.
· Document standardized processes, workflows, and procedures to promote consistency, accuracy, and efficiency.
· Collaborate with internal team members to enhance service quality, turnaround times, and the overall client experience.
Qualifications:· 4+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, client accounting services, or a related field.
· Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including financial statements, general ledger activity, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
· Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work confidently with clients.
· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
· Effectively prioritize and manage multiple clients, deadlines, and recurring accounting activities.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and determine appropriate solutions.
· Technology-minded with an interest in using AI, automation, and other tools to improve accounting processes.
· Ability to critically evaluate AI-assisted or automated output, identify errors, and use sound accounting judgment to produce a quality final product.
· Self-motivated and proactive, with a desire to continually identify ways to improve efficiency and processes.
