About the Role

Senior Accountant
Downtown Los Angeles | Onsite | Direct Hire
$75,000 - $85,000 DOE

Our client, a respected nonprofit organization focused on community development and affordable housing, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to make a meaningful impact while advancing their career.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage general ledger accounting and month-end close processes
• Prepare and post journal entries and account reconciliations
• Perform bank reconciliations and proof-of-cash reporting
• Reconcile accounts receivable, deposits, and balance sheet accounts
• Coordinate year-end audit schedules and supporting documentation
• Maintain fixed asset records and reconciliations
• Conduct financial analysis and special accounting projects
• Assist with internal audits and process improvement initiatives
• Track and analyze capital project and construction costs
• Prepare financial reports, schedules, and management analyses
• Support the Controller with accounting operations, policies, and internal controls
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong general ledger, reconciliation, and financial reporting experience
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
• Experience with audits, fixed assets, and financial analysis
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Nonprofit and fund accounting experience highly preferred
Pay Details: $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year
