About the Role

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to support the daily accounting operations of the organization. This role will have a strong focus on accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger accounting, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
  • Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment requests in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain vendor records and resolve vendor inquiries.
  • Prepare ACH, wire, and check payments.
  • Assist with annual 1099 preparation and reporting.
  • Reconcile AP subledger activity to the general ledger.
Payroll
  • Process multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain employee payroll records, deductions, benefits, and tax information.
  • Review timesheets for accuracy and ensure proper approvals.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries and payroll account reconciliations.
  • Reconcile payroll reports, tax filings, and employee benefit deductions.
  • Partner with HR to process employee onboarding, terminations, and compensation changes.
General Ledger & Accounting
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  • Maintain general ledger integrity and investigate discrepancies.
  • Support preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Assist with fixed asset accounting, accruals, and prepaid expense schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls.
Audit & Reporting
  • Support internal and external audit requests.
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with annual financial audits and tax reporting requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience with significant exposure to Accounts Payable, Payroll, and General Ledger accounting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Experience with NetSuite highly preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $37.00 per hour
