Senior AccountantPosition SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to join a growing accounting team supporting a large, multi-location organization. This role will be heavily involved in the month-end close process, account reconciliations, financial analysis, inventory accounting, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong technical accounting skills, and enjoy working with large data sets to drive financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review month-end close journal entries and account analyses, with a focus on inventory, cost of goods sold, and gross margin accounts.
- Perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
- Analyze large volumes of financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, and potential accounting issues.
- Investigate and resolve account discrepancies while ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Partner with Accounts Payable, Payroll, FP&A, and Operations teams to support the close process and improve financial reporting accuracy.
- Conduct variance analyses and provide insights into key financial drivers impacting business performance.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, gathering supporting documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Support the documentation and enhancement of accounting processes and internal controls.
- Participate in system implementations, process improvement initiatives, and special projects aimed at increasing efficiency and scalability.
- Help develop standardized accounting procedures and best practices across the organization.
- Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reporting for management and business leadership.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a combination of public accounting and industry environments.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Advanced Excel skills with experience managing and analyzing large data sets.
- Experience preparing account reconciliations, financial schedules, journal entries, and variance analyses.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Self-starter who can work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Experience with ERP and accounting systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, or distribution/manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to data analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with AS/400, Sage, or comparable ERP systems.
- CPA certification or progress toward certification is a plus.
Pay Details: $100,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year
