Senior Accountant Montgomery County, PA (Hybrid) $90,000 - $130,000 Our client is a global construction company seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing finance team. This highly visible role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Controller and executive leadership while supporting large-scale construction projects and helping drive financial and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, experience with project-based accounting, and the ability to contribute to process improvements within a dynamic, growing organization.
Responsibilities - Perform month-end and year-end close activities
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
- Manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and project accounting activities
- Analyze job costs and monitor project profitability
- Oversee project invoicing and support revenue recognition processes
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiencies
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
- Collaborate with project managers and operational leaders on financial performance and reporting
- Supervise and mentor an Accounting Assistant
- Serve as a key support resource to the Controller
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Construction accounting and project accounting experience preferred
- Experience with:
- WIP reporting
- Job costing
- Project invoicing
- Month-end close
- Financial statement preparation
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Solid knowledge of debits, credits, and journal entries
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
