About the Role

Senior Accountant Montgomery County, PA (Hybrid) $90,000 - $130,000 Our client is a global construction company seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing finance team. This highly visible role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Controller and executive leadership while supporting large-scale construction projects and helping drive financial and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, experience with project-based accounting, and the ability to contribute to process improvements within a dynamic, growing organization. Responsibilities
  • Perform month-end and year-end close activities
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
  • Manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and project accounting activities
  • Analyze job costs and monitor project profitability
  • Oversee project invoicing and support revenue recognition processes
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiencies
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
  • Collaborate with project managers and operational leaders on financial performance and reporting
  • Supervise and mentor an Accounting Assistant
  • Serve as a key support resource to the Controller
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Construction accounting and project accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with:
    • WIP reporting
    • Job costing
    • Project invoicing
    • Month-end close
    • Financial statement preparation
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Solid knowledge of debits, credits, and journal entries
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
