About the Role

We're partnering with a growing surveying and geospatial firm seeking an experienced Party Crew Chief to join its Ellicott City team. This is a hands-on field role leading a small survey crew across a diverse mix of projects throughout the region.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate a small field survey crew
  • Perform boundary, topographic, construction stakeout, control, and infrastructure surveys
  • Operate GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, and other modern survey equipment
  • Interpret plans, plats, maps, and project specifications
  • Maintain accurate field notes and ensure quality field data
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and office staff to keep projects on schedule
  • Troubleshoot field conditions and take ownership of day-to-day crew operations
Qualifications
  • Prior land surveying field experience
  • Party Chief/Crew Chief experience preferred; experienced Instrument Operators ready to step into leadership will also be considered
  • Experience with GPS/GNSS and total station equipment
  • Experience with boundary, topographic, and/or construction surveying
  • Ability to read plans and work independently in the field
  • Valid driver's license
Compensation & Benefits
  • $25-$40/hour, depending on experience
