We are seeking a skilled
Senior Accountant for a consulting engagement with a growing organization in the
Indianapolis market. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting critical financial operations, month-end close activities, and financial reporting initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Support internal and external audit requests
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement fluctuations
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls
- Collaborate with finance and operational teams on special projects
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations
- Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar
- CPA designation preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience- Manufacturing, healthcare, distribution, or professional services industry experience
- Ability to quickly adapt to new systems and processes
- Experience working in a consulting, contract, or project-based environment
