LHH is recruiting a Workers' Compensation Paralegal for the Cleveland Office of a national law firm. The Paralegal investigates facts, prepares documents to assist attorneys, a ssists with witness interviews, document productions, litigation holds, subpoenas (responding and issuing), and deposition preparation.
Responsibilities:
- Investigates facts, and independently prepares documents to assist attorneys with matters
- Summarizes complex legal documents
- Organizes and indexes case files
- Performs wide variety of data compilation with little or no supervision
- Prepares reports, correspondence, declarations and complaints
- Drafts a variety of legal documents
- Prepares affidavits or documents and maintains document file
- Prepares for mediations and trials
- Assists Attorneys at trial
- Assists Attorney in preparation for depositions
- Communicates with witnesses and experts
- Enters billing and expense data into Firm system in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- Paralegal certification / degree from accredited college or university
- 6+ years of paralegal experience, preferably working in a labor/employment litigation practice
- Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; Lexis-Nexis and WestLaw, Live Note, Relativity, Case Map, Docketing, Document Management System, expense and billing systems
