Compensation: $175,000 - $250,000 + benefits
OverviewA leading law firm is seeking a
Director of Attorney Recruiting & Development to drive firmwide hiring strategy, talent pipeline development, and attorney growth initiatives. This is a high-impact role partnering closely with firm leadership while remaining hands-on in execution.
Key ResponsibilitiesRecruiting & Talent Acquisition- Lead full-cycle attorney recruiting across all levels
- Partner with practice leaders on hiring strategy and workforce planning
- Manage search firm relationships and proactive sourcing efforts
- Oversee candidate experience, offers, and onboarding
- Track recruiting metrics and market trends
Pipeline & External Partnerships- Build relationships with top law schools and legal organizations
- Oversee summer associate and entry-level programs
- Represent the firm at recruiting events and industry functions
Attorney Development- Drive initiatives focused on engagement, retention, and career progression
- Support performance management, succession planning, and lateral integration
- Enhance mentorship and professional development programs
- Oversee attorney training and Continuing Legal Education programs
- Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams on firmwide initiatives
- Promote a collaborative, high-performance culture
QualificationsRequired- Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred)
- 8+ years in legal recruiting, attorney development, or related field
- Strong law firm knowledge and proven attorney recruiting success
- Established Chicago legal market network
- Experience working with firm leadership
Preferred- Large or mid-sized firm experience
- Campus recruiting and summer program exposure
- Background in attorney development, training programs, SHRM or HRCI is a plus
