Trusts & Estates Paralegal for a full-service business law firm in Chicago at their headquarters. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional with experience in
probate administration, estate planning, trust administration, fiduciary matters, and related real estate and corporate transactions.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative legal environment and possess strong organizational, communication, and case management skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesProbate & Estate Administration- Assist attorneys with probate estate administration from inception through closing.
- Prepare and file probate pleadings, petitions, inventories, accountings, notices, and related court documents.
- Coordinate with courts, fiduciaries, beneficiaries, financial institutions, accountants, and third parties.
- Monitor probate deadlines and court schedules.
- Gather, organize, and analyze estate asset information.
Trust Administration- Assist with the administration of revocable and irrevocable trusts.
- Prepare trust funding and asset transfer documentation.
- Coordinate distributions to beneficiaries.
- Maintain trust records and fiduciary accountings.
- Communicate with trustees and beneficiaries regarding trust administration matters.
General Paralegal Support- Maintain case files, calendars, and docketing systems.
- Draft correspondence and legal documents.
- Conduct legal and factual research.
- Support attorneys with special projects and client matters.
- Assist with estate planning matters involving corporate and real estate assets.
Qualifications- 3+ years of Trusts & Estates Paralegal experience.
- Experience handling probate and estate administration matters.
- Strong knowledge of trust administration and fiduciary accountings.
- Experience preparing probate court filings and related documentation.
- Familiarity with Illinois probate procedures and electronic court filing systems.
- Understanding of corporate and real estate matters related to estate planning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Compensation & Benefits- Competitive salary ranging from $110,000 - $120,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
