The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Support civil/structural engineering activities in collaboration with site personnel, subject matter experts, project teams, and external partners
  • Perform condition assessments of structures, foundations, and infrastructure systems; document findings and recommend practical remediation actions
  • Execute structural analysis and evaluations for steel, concrete, masonry, and other systems in industrial environments
  • Develop and review designs for structural components and systems associated with maintenance, upgrades, and small to mid-sized capital projects
  • Contribute to incident investigations and root cause analyses involving structural or infrastructure-related issues
  • Assist in development of engineering documentation, specifications, and scopes of work for repair and improvement projects

The following is required for this role:

  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum 7 years of civil/structural engineering experience, including at least 3 years in chemical, petrochemical, or similar industrial sectors
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (AISC, ACI, ASCE, IBC, AASHTO, OSHA)
  • Solid foundation in structural analysis, materials, and design principles
  • Ability to travel approximately 25–30% to support site activities and perform field assessments, including climbing ladders

The following is preferred for this role:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure
  • Demonstrated experience supporting field investigations, troubleshooting, and data collection activities in operating industrial facilities
  • Basic knowledge of geotechnical/foundation engineering, site grading, drainage, hydrology, groundwater protection, environmental structures, underground piping systems, roadway/railway systems, loading/unloading facilities, etc.
