About the Role

The Industrial/Automation Engineer will work closely with our account managers to develop innovative Industrial and automation solutions to help increase component sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Work within the engineering best practices and follow the standards for electrical schematics, panels, programming and system solutions.
  • Designing and laying out new and existing electrical systems.
  • Work closely with sales directors and engineering team to develop preferred component standardization.
  • Work with other engineers on circuit and system designs for projects.
  • Work closely with pricing/purchasing to identify standard suppliers, components, and costs.
  • Working closely with manufacturing and production to oversee projects.
  • Testing new systems and making design changes as needed.
  • Preparing cost estimates for customers and other employees.
  • Interacting with customers using verbal and written communication.
  • Creating product documentation and records.

Product Application, Integration and Technical Support:
  • Festo electric drives and handling units.
  • Festo smart valve terminals.
  • VFD's - Danfoss Drives.
  • Yaskawa Motion Control Product.
  • Fluid Power Motion Control Products.
  • IMI/Norgren/Bimba - electric drives and handling units.
  • A&B PLC's & HMI's.


Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent applicable work experience)
  • Advanced mathematical skills for calculation of design equations.
  • Writing skills for preparing manuals, parts lists, proposals and design documentation.
  • Using industry-specific tools to analyze and test electronics.
  • Experience with IEC 61131-3 PLC languages (Structured text, Func. Block, CFC, Ladder)
  • Experience with Codesys 3.5 is a plus (Eaton, Festo, IFM, etc.)
  • Familiarity with industrial fieldbus/Ethernet protocols.
  • Experienced with HMI software.
  • Experience with 2D electrical CAD modeling (AutoCAD electrical or equivalent)
