About the Role

Qualifications & Experience:
Certification in Special Education, with valid state credentials required
Previous experience in an elementary special education/resource classroom preferred
Strong understanding of IEP process and implementation
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Commitment to creating a supportive, equitable, and engaging classroom
Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet individual student needs
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
Provide direct instruction to students in a resource classroom setting
Work collaboratively with general education teachers, therapists, and staff to promote student integration and success
Track and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
Communicate regularly with families to share updates and discuss goals
Maintain an organized, safe, and positive learning environment
Participate in school meetings, professional development, and student planning sessions
