About the Role
Spectrum Student Organization Leadership Position
Start Date: July 1, 2026 End Date: June 30, 2027 Number of Positions: 3 Hours per Week: 20 hours each student Weekends Required: No Evenings Required: No
Supervisor: Beth Donahue Alternate Supervisor: Nick Denson
This position allows for remote work Yes/No: Yes Percentage of time that could be remote (0-100%): 100% Remote Method to assess remote work: Student leaders will meet weekly with the supervisor to assess, plan, and implement ongoing projects.
Job Description
Collaborate with faculty advisors and student members to plan bi-weekly meetings, events, and discussions. (1 Hour)
Lead and facilitate group meetings, ensuring a safe and welcoming space for all members.
Assist in managing communications, including email updates, meeting reminders, and social media outreach. (1 Hour)
Develop programming and events that support the professional and personal development of LGBTQIA+ students. (5 Hours)
Organize and maintain group resources, including meeting notes, educational materials, and relevant literature. (1 Hour)
Serve as a liaison between SPECTRUM and other campus organizations to promote collaboration and engagement. (1 Hour)
Work with faculty advisors to identify opportunities for group growth and sustainability.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of conduct. (1 Hour)
Qualifications
Passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ communities and advocating for inclusivity.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
Familiarity with event planning and coordination is a plus.
Previous involvement in student organizations or leadership roles is preferred but not required.
