About the Role

Funzy Retail Expansion & Business Development Manager

Funzy stands for fun and cozy – and for a new generation of play furniture that combines creativity, comfort, and functionality. Our mission is to offer children long-lasting, imaginative, and meaningful products that accompany themin playing, exploring, and growing.

With our innovative combination of furniture and toy, we inspire children to boundless imagination and promote their development. Since our founding in 2020, over 350,000 parents have trusted our products.

To further drive our vision and become Europe's leading brand for play furniture, we are looking for a dedicated individual who will bring Funzy to life offline – on pop-up spaces, events, trade shows, and wherever families discover our products for the first time.

Pensum: Full-time

Location: Remote (Germany)

Start Date: As soon as possible or by agreement

Responsibilities

Do you love to inspire people, seek out new opportunities, and turn ideas into real sales?

Then this could be your role.

As a Retail Expansion & Business Development Manager, you bring Funzy from the digital world directly to people: on pop-up spaces, events, and trade shows throughout the DACH region.

You develop new locations and partnerships, create special experiences around our products, and turn first encounters into long-term enthusiasm.

Pop-Up & Flagship Stores

  • You bring Funzy to the metropolises of the DACH region and take full operational and strategic responsibility for our monthly pop-up stores from A to Z – including location scouting, logistics, team management, live sales, and post-event analysis.
  • You are responsible for a seven-figure sales channel with clear targets, manage budgets and KPIs, and keep an eye on both growth and profitability.
  • You ensure that each sales space optimally reflects the Funzy brand – creative, high-quality, and absolutely "insta-ready".
  • Prospectively, you take on a central role in building our first Funzy flagship store and actively shape how we develop our offline presence in the coming years.

Offline Activations

  • You establish long-term partnerships and place Funzy where families are: from family cafes to children's hotels to concept stores and experience worlds.
  • You develop creative activations, events, and actions that create attention, bring people together, and promote sales.
  • You work closely with our marketing team and intelligently extend offline experiences into the digital world.
  • You recruit, train, and motivate local promoters and event teams, ensuring that each activation is a success.
  • You get your hands dirty and are the driving force behind our pop-ups and activations on-site.
Qualification
  • You have experience in areas such as retail expansion, store manager, field sales, trade marketing, or business development, ideally in a dynamic start-up, DTC, or consumer environment.
  • You are a true organizational talent, work solution-oriented, and keep an overview even when many things are happening at once.
  • You are a doer and like to get your hands dirty: from negotiation appointments to setting up a pop-up store.
  • You approach people proactively, build relationships, and enjoy negotiating strong partnerships and good deals.
  • You love to achieve goals, make successes visible, and get energy from turning an idea into sales at the end.
  • You have a good sense for families, parents, and children and understand what motivates our target group.
  • You love variety and are always on the move. You spend around 40-50% of your working time traveling within the DACH region.
  • You speak fluent German and very good English.
