About the Role
Physics Masters — AI Training Specialist
We're partnering with the world's leading AI research labs to make the next generation of AI models smarter, more rigorous, and more reliable — and we need physics experts to help get it there.
If you hold a Masters in Physics (or are currently pursuing one), this is a rare opportunity to apply your deep technical knowledge to problems that actually matter at the frontier of AI. You'll design challenging physics problems, evaluate how well AI models reason through them, and collaborate with researchers to push the quality of AI further than it's ever been.
No AI experience required. Just strong physics — and the ability to think clearly and communicate precisely.
Organization: Alignerr
Type: Hourly Contract
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week, flexible
What You'll Do
Design advanced, well-structured physics problems spanning mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, and more
Develop rigorous, step-by-step solutions that demonstrate clear, logical reasoning
Evaluate AI-generated responses for physical accuracy, mathematical correctness, and quality of reasoning
Collaborate with research teams to build and refine benchmarks ranging from undergraduate to Masters-level difficulty
Provide structured, actionable feedback that directly improves AI model performance
Who You Are
Currently pursuing or have completed a Masters degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or a closely related field
Strong problem-solving ability across multiple advanced physics domains
Able to communicate complex concepts clearly and precisely in writing
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently
No prior AI or data annotation experience required
Nice to Have
Experience with data annotation, evaluation systems, or academic research
Familiarity with writing technical documentation or structured feedback
Exposure to computational or experimental physics methods
Why Join Us
Work on genuinely cutting-edge AI projects alongside top research labs and institutions
Fully remote and async — work when and where it suits you
Flexible weekly hours that fit around your existing commitments
High agency and autonomy — your expertise drives your work
Meaningful contribution: your input directly shapes how AI understands and reasons through physics
Potential for ongoing contract renewals and expanded project involvement
