Position: Regional Packaging Superintendent or Manager Jr position. Base: MTY JTC Travel 70% availability to work remotely at AME locations, currently MX plant locations On site 30% at JTC
Fleet calculation restoration
Strong technical documentation skills to write specifications and trial reports. RFQ approval process
Support plant packaging Engineers Packaging cost reduction projects Premium freight and avoidance of PF, OT and other additional cost associated with packaging engineering. Supplier management
Core Technical Expertise Packaging Design & Software: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ArtiosCAD) for 2D/3D structural design and TOPS or CAPE for pallet optimization.Material Science: Deep understanding of the properties and applications of plastics, paperboard, glass, and metals, as well as emerging sustainable alternatives like bioplastics.Testing & Compliance: Knowledge of industry-standard testing protocols from ISTA and ASTM for distribution and durability, alongside regulatory compliance (e.g., FDA, MDR, ISO 11607).
Sustainability & LCA: Ability to conduct Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) to quantify environmental impacts and ensure compliance with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws.
Team Development: Experience in hiring, mentoring junior engineers, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and accountability. Project & Budget Management: Leading CAPEX projects, managing annual operating plans, and overseeing project timelines to ensure on-time delivery. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effectively partnering with R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to align packaging with branding and production goals. Vendor Management: Evaluating and managing supplier relationships, auditing for quality, and negotiating contracts for materials and equipment.
Degree: Bachelor's degree in Packaging Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in packaging development or manufacturing English is a must
