COMPENSATION RANGE: 1,080.00 - 1,300.00 per credit hour

Position Summary:
Temporary, part-timeadjunct faculty in Humanities and Social Sciences. Disciplines accepting newhiring pool applications are: Africana Studies; Economics (on campus only),Gender Studies; and Sociology. Applicants must specify discipline(s) in coverletter. Online teaching opportunities may be available in some of theabove-mentioned disciplines.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree orequivalent in a discipline appropriate to the one in which the candidate wishesto teach. Commitment to quality instruction at the college level is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate in adiscipline appropriate to the one in which the candidate wishes to teach. Pastrecord of successful college-level teaching experience in the discipline ofemployment. For online teaching, one or more semesters' worth of onlineteaching experience. Experience using the Canvas platform and with courses thathave received Quality Matters approval is advantageous.

Benefits available include health, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement plans for all full-time positions. Employees at UNC receive sick leave, and other leave options may be available based on position. Full-time employees are eligible to receive tuition waiver benefits, as well as dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed at 0.5 FTE or above are eligible for undergraduate dependent tuition grants of up to 50%. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position.
