The candidate will be jointly supervised by the two faculty members who are both physician scientists with shared research projects.Dr.Rhee is a physician-scientist in the Division of Cardiology whose research focuses on understanding the biological mechanisms linking cardiovascular diseases with cancer and cancer therapies.She uses human-induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), patient-derived samples, genomics, and computational biology to identify biomarkers and therapeutic targets aimed at improving cardiovascular outcomes for cancer patients.Dr.
Li is a physician scientist in radiation oncology whose research integrates genetic epidemiology, innovative sequencing and bioinformatics technologies including single cell and spatial transcriptomics, molecular biology approaches using cell-based and animal models, and biomarker studies from patients enrolled in clinical trials to better understand the role of metabolic dysfunction in cancer risk and treatment response.As a successful candidate, you will: Candidates are expected to demonstrate strong ability in the following areas:
