About the Role

Associate Director, FSP Clinical Operations / FSP Program Lead

This leadership role sits at the center of large-scale clinical operations delivery within a Functional Service Provider (FSP) model, overseeing complex programs and ensuring high-quality execution across client engagements.You will manage cross-functional clinical operations teams, drive resourcing strategy, and ensure operational alignment with client expectations, timelines, and regulatory standards.The role blends program leadership, people management, and client governance, requiring strong oversight of performance, KPIs, and delivery outcomes.

You will act as a key liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders, shaping operational strategy while ensuring smooth execution of clinical trial support services.This is a highly visible position with direct impact on client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and team performance across multiple programs.The environment is matrixed, fast-paced, and focused on continuous improvement and scalable delivery excellence.

Accountabilities:
  • Oversee execution of one or more FSP clinical operations programs, ensuring delivery against timelines, quality standards, and contractual obligations
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for senior internal leaders and client stakeholders on program-related matters
  • Manage program logistics, staffing, resourcing, and operational infrastructure to meet client needs and KPIs
  • Lead governance activities, client meetings, reporting, and escalation processes, including CAPA management when needed
  • Drive workforce planning, recruitment coordination, onboarding, and retention strategies for assigned teams
  • Provide direct line management, coaching, and performance oversight for managers and clinical operations staff
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, regulatory requirements, and quality standards while identifying process improvement opportunities
  • Support business development activities including bid support, RFPs, and client presentations
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in FSP clinical operations, including exposure to hybrid FSP or staff augmentation models
  • At least 3 years of direct line management experience leading clinical or operational teams
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial operations, drug development processes, and regulatory frameworks (FDA, EMA, ICH-GCP)
  • Experience managing resourcing, forecasting, workforce planning, and operational delivery in a client services environment
  • Proven ability to lead matrixed teams, manage performance, and drive accountability across multiple stakeholders
  • Strong client relationship management, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset with ability to manage complex operational challenges
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools and ability to work effectively in a remote, global environment
  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, pharmacy, nursing, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
