About the Role:
Join us to work on multi-million-dollar career defining projects. We are currently seeking a Senior or Principal level Environmental Scientist, Contaminated Sites to join our WA Contaminated Sites Team to assist with some of Australia's largest and most complex industrial facilities closures. We welcome applications from both individual leaders and established teams seeking a new platform to grow.
The role will involve providing technical oversight and strategic and practical solutions to clients with environmental management challenges.
The successful candidate will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science/Engineering, Hydrogeology or Geology
- 8+ years' experience in contaminated land and remediation projects.
- Experience in contaminated land assessments with exposure to a wide range of environmental and engineering situations
- Demonstrated experience in site supervision, managing site investigations and various sampling methods including soil and groundwater.
- Strong communication, well develop report writing, and project management skills.
- A focus on safety and environmental responsibility.
- Knowledge of NEPM as well as health & safety best practice principles
- Strong knowledge of WA environmental legislation
- The candidate must have a great eye for detail, a sense of practicality in regard to legislative and technical interpretation, and the ability to find pragmatic solutions.
General responsibilities include:
- Undertaking preliminary and detailed contaminated land assessments, preparing PSI and DSI Assessment Reports, site management plans and remediation action plans
- Initiation, planning, leading and executing complex contaminated land/waste projects, including soil, vapour, surface water, wastewater and groundwater assessments
- Providing mentoring and technical oversight to the contaminated land/waste team
- Engaging with clients and other disciplinary teams to determine innovative solutions to complex environmental problems
