Position: Special Education Behavior Intervention Teacher
This position is for the 2026-2027 School Year. The first teacher duty day is August 24th, with new teacher workshop the week of August 17th.FTE: 1.0
Bargaining Unit: TeachersSalary Range: BA, Step 1 at $51,599/yr to PhD, Step 17 at $111,313/yr, placement will vary depending on education and experience. View salary grid on the respective bargaining unit listed above, accessible via our

Job Summary: The Special Education Behavior Intervention Teacher is responsible for providing frontline support to students with behavioral challenges within a special education setting. This role focuses on implementing behavior intervention strategies to address and mitigate disruptive behaviors, fostering a conducive learning environment for students with diverse needs. While not engaged in due process procedures, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in collaborating with educators, support staff, and families to develop and implement effective behavior management plans.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education. Requires a MN teaching license in special education.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in special education
- Strong understanding of behavior management principles
- Experience working with students with diverse behavioral needs in educational settings.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and due process procedures.
- Proficiency in conducting behavioral assessments and developing behavior intervention plans.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt intervention strategies based on ongoing data analysis and student progress.
