Description

Summary: DAY SHIFT 6:00AM -2:30PM MONDAY -FRIDAY Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operatinga computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintains quality and safety standards; keeps records and maintains equipment supplies by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Plans machining by studying work orders, prints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters.
  • Interprets geometric dimensions and tolerances
  • Sets tool registers, offsets, compensations, and conditional switches
  • Calculates requirements including basic math and adjusting three and four-jaw chicks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers.
  • Loads machine by lifting stock into position.
  • Verifies setting by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to standards
  • Take measurements
  • Detecting malfunctions
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Education and/or Experience: Equivalent to high school education or related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to write simple correspondence.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: Work near moving mechanical parts. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
