About the Role

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing and well-established organization in the construction industry to identify a skilled Construction Accountant for its Columbus, Ohio team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced, project-driven environment where you will play a key role in financial reporting, project accounting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, experience supporting project-based operations, and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments to drive financial accuracy and business performance.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Prepare financial statements, account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules
  • Partner with project teams to track project costs, billing activity, revenue recognition, and profitability
  • Review project financial performance, work-in-progress reporting, and forecasting data
  • Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial planning initiatives
  • Assist with audit preparation, compliance reporting, and continuous improvement of accounting processes
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience within construction, contracting, engineering, manufacturing, or other project-based environments preferred
  • Experience with project costing, percentage-of-completion accounting, or revenue recognition methodologies strongly preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis functions
  • Proven ability to analyze financial data and provide meaningful business recommendations
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Pay Details: $75,000.00 to $98,000.00 per year
