Key Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings preferred
Familiarity with the needs of Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
Possession of relevant certifications or meeting state requirements for school interpreters
Excellent communication, professionalism, and reliability
Role Responsibilities:
Provide sign language interpretation for one student during all classroom instruction, activities, and school events
Support the student's comprehension and participation in academic and social settings
Collaborate with teachers and staff to facilitate an accessible learning environment
Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards set by interpreting organizations
Adapt interpreting techniques to meet the individual needs of the student
This position is full-time at 37.5 hours per week, offering you consistent daytime work for the full school year. The contract is designed for professionals who are dedicated to student success and eager to build meaningful, lasting connections within the school community.
