Chemistry Experts (PhD Or Master's), Are You There?

Athyna is building Latin America's largest network of Chemistry PhDs and Master's researchers to work directly on frontier AI post-training with leading AI labs and Fortune 500 companies.

You'll design evaluation frameworks, stress-test model performance, conduct red-teaming exercises, and help refine AI systems for real-world deployment. Projects range from targeted evaluations to ongoing model improvement work — including contributions to Humanity's Last Exam (HLE), a benchmark of 2,500 expert-level questions across 100+ scientific subjects, created by the Center for AI Safety and Scale AI. Engagement options are flexible: full-time, part-time, or project-based — depending on client needs and your availability.

This is hands-on research work that directly shapes how advanced AI systems perform in production.

In your day-to-day, you will

• Review AI outputs related to chemical concepts and data.
• Identify inaccuracies, incorrect assumptions, or unsafe conclusions.
• Design challenging chemistry-related evaluation tasks.
• Provide clear scientific explanations or reference solutions.
• Maintain high standards of scientific rigor.
• Contribute to expert-level benchmark datasets like HLE — designing or validating questions at PhD difficulty across chemistry domains.

Skills you have

• PhD or Master's degree in Chemistry.
• Strong understanding of chemical principles and data.
• Experience analyzing experimental or theoretical results.
• High attention to accuracy and detail.

Skills that will make you stand out

• Experience with computational chemistry or cheminformatics.
• Familiarity with AI applications in chemistry.
• Experience reviewing technical or scientific content.
• Comfort working with structured datasets.
• Prior involvement in question design, academic assessment, or research publication.
