About the Role

Core Thermal Hydraulic Engineer/Analyst

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Core Thermal Hydraulic Engineer/Analyst to support methodology development, analysis, and design efforts of reactor core for the sodium-cooled Natrium Reactor program. Reporting to the Manager, Core ThermalHydraulics Methods & Analysis for Safety, Engineering and Analysis Department, you will mature methodologies, support the test program, and perform analyses to evaluate the behavior for these advanced energy systems under various conditions.

Tasks:

  • Perform the thermal-hydraulics analysis using the in-house subchannel analysis software to assess various scenarios that feed into the reactor safety design parameters
  • Perform the work under the scope of company's quality assurance program and following the company's quality assurance requirements.
  • Perform the origination and/or design verification reviews of calculation products generated following the company's governing policies and procedures.
  • Deliver the deliverables which are complete, correct, free from errors, omissions, faults or defects in design, workmanship and materials, in accordance with any performance guarantees, specifications and applicable laws

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • B.S, M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Nuclear, or other relevant technical Engineering area from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in thermal hydraulic analysis with a B.S. degree, or 8+ years with an M.S. or Ph.D. degree with a demonstrated ability to produce a high-quality work product.
  • 8+ years' experience in Nuclear Systems Thermal-Hydraulic behavior and analyses.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in advanced liquid metal-cooled nuclear reactor core design and thermal hydraulic analysis using the subchannel analysis software (e.g. SE2-ANL, COBRA, VIPRE).
  • Strong understanding on the uncertainty quantification, verification and validation
  • Strong communication skills desired.
  • The service provider will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and a desire to foster teamwork.
