About the Role

Director Of Institutional Advancement

The Director of Institutional Advancement manages a comprehensive program at a Community College Campus to locate sources of funds, to prepare grant requests, to develop long term relationships with donor organizations and individuals, to solicit andto manage funds from these sources.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and developing funding sources;
  • Cultivating and soliciting voluntary fund sources;
  • Managing, allocating, safeguarding and accounting for development funds.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies
  • Service on assigned committees and task forces
  • Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings which may occur during evenings and weekends.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriately relevant field together with two (2) or more years of experience in a related field or a combination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position's essential duties.

    • Grant proposal writing
    • Public and organization or association relations at an executive level
    • Fiscal management and grant administration

    • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience supporting higher education institutions with fundraising and advancements efforts
  • Experience working in or leading small fundraising operations
  • A demonstrated commitment to supporting equity and social justice efforts

Salary and benefits include:

  • Salary $84,997 approximate annual
  • CT State offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
