The Concept Architecture Top Hat collaborates with engineering teams to conceptualize and develop the pick-up truck top hat, which includes all the things the customer sees and touches, like the truck cab, bed, doors, seats, soft and hard trim. It also includes other "hidden" top hat elements like body structural elements, wiring, hoses, etc.
What you'll need to be successful (must haves):
- Partner with interior/exterior design and other concept & systems architect teams to come up with solutions to engineering & functional challenges through creation of 3D CAD, such as new/modified part data, packaging and clearance zones, and alternate packaging proposals.
- Support simulation and validation teams through creation of prototype packaging/part proposals; incorporate lessons learned in 3D CAD updates.
- Critically review available technical systems and propose engineering and/or customer experience improvement.
- Create detailed design documentation, including 2D and 3D drawings, specifications, and design guidelines for the platform.
Essentials:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in concept engineering, especially with top hat development.
