Are you our next Geotechnical Engineer?

We are currently seeking a Geotechnical Engineer (Project) for our Florida Concentrates Operations. The position is responsible for providing engineering services to efficiently manage gypsum stack projects from inception through completion by following Mosaic's Capital Process Management system and the Mosaic Standard on Tailings Management. This includes safety, planning, site investigation, conceptual design, design basis, detailed engineering and engineering support during construction.

What will you do?
  • Execute engineering scope for gypsum stack projects across multiple concentrate facilities.
  • Collaborate with Operations, site stack engineers, permitting, environmental, and geotechnical teams to identify major geotechnical capital projects.
  • Partner with the Project Manager (PM) to prepare Intake Forms, including preliminary problem statements, business objectives, and cost estimates for stakeholder approval.
  • Work with the PM to develop triage documents, business cases, and scope definitions outlining objectives, drivers, alternatives, schedules, risks, and capital needs; route for RACI and plant manager approval.
  • After business case approval, support the PM in developing RFPs and preparing Preliminary Commitment Requests (PCRs) to advance scope, estimates, schedules, and long-lead engineering items.
  • Coordinate detailed engineering plan development and ensure alignment with RACI team goals, operability requirements, and maintainability requirements.
  • Participate in the technical engineering team to stay informed of project changes impacting priorities and need-by dates.
  • Collaborate with site gypsum stack engineers on growth charts and disposition plans; conduct and review quarterly updates.
  • Develop the annual capital project list, facilitate stakeholder alignment, and conduct semiannual reviews to ensure updated priorities based on mine and CSA plans.
  • Travel to facilities to understand operations and build relationships that support gypsum stack projects.
  • Work with project controls to maintain project management procedures and engineering standards.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
What do you need for this role?
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a major in Geotechnical, Civil, Mining or related engineering discipline required.
  • Surface mining or heavy construction experience with exposure to environmental and safety compliance and stormwater management elements. Demonstrated engineering and design experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintain a cooperative, productive work relationship with management, coworkers, and customers.
  • Must have knowledge in: MS Office suite, Engineering software, ability to interpret & understand Primavera P6 & Microsoft Project Schedule
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience
Engineer II
  • 2+ years of surface mining or heavy construction experience with exposure to environmental and safety compliance and stormwater management elements.
Engineer III
  • 4+ years of surface mining or heavy construction experience with exposure to environmental and safety compliance and stormwater management elements.
Engineer Senior
  • 8+ years of surface mining or heavy construction experience with exposure to environmental and safety compliance and stormwater management elements.
Bonus is you have the following:
  • P.E. and/ or PMP certifications preferred
  • SAP/Maximo, Fieldglass, preferred
