About the Role

Mount Gilead, OH (There may be potential for remote work for people who live in Ohio, with some travel to the facility occasionally.)

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience and is a combination of salary and bonus potential.

Opportunity Summary:

The Director of Marketing will be responsible for establishing and directing the marketing and indirectly the sales activities of the organization, including advertising and public relations. Our client is a privately held financially strong and family friendly B2C specialty chemical company serving the Automotive aftermarket.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing strategic sales and marketing objectives.
  • Responsible for managing budgets and evaluating sales performance.
  • Accomplishes marketing and sales staff objectives by hiring, training, developing, and coaching employees.
  • Communicates job expectations by planning, monitoring, and reviewing job contributions.
  • Manage and develop marketing programs and materials, such as advertising, event support, and online promotions.
  • Responsible for developing a revenue management strategy to maximize profitability for everyday sales.
  • Create and implement short and long-term marketing strategies to meet sales goals and annual sales targets.
  • Actively seek new business using marketing campaigns, e-commerce, site visits, and other methods.
  • Generate new business while also increasing customer loyalty by cultivating long-term relations with patrons.
  • Evaluate market trends to determine pricing to balance costs, competition, and supply and demand.
  • Prepare accurate and complete sales reports documenting marketing budgets, direct sales, and outline marketing plans.
  • Consult with sales managers and stakeholders to evaluate the company's performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Marketing required.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of branding, marketing strategy, and creative experience preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of consumer product sales experience in a retail environment, preferably with an automotive, power tool, or outdoor power equipment products company.
  • Must have 5-7 years of experience managing a team of professionals.
  • Amazon vendor central and seller central experience preferred.
  • High energy, positive can-do attitude who not only achieves, but exceeds in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Experience setting and managing budgets including revision and reallocation throughout the fiscal year base on business performance.
  • Successful track record of new product development and aggregate marketing strategy development and execution.
  • Demonstrated ability as a valued senior team member who can effectively and positively influence others in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Experience working with outside vendors to develop marketing strategies and implementation plans.
  • Mass merchant and Big Box consumer product experience is required.
